Sometimes we get so focused on churning out great work that we don’t stop and look at the big picture of what’s happening in our industry.
Here’s a peek at the news we’re buzzing about right now…
1.Five Luxury Brands Winning With Content Marketing…don’t you want to know who they are? We sure did. Bergdorf Goodman and Gucci’s latest social media efforts prove that, yes, you can have it all. And when we say “all,” we’re talking about successfully achieving that age-old balance between exclusivity and approachability on social media.
2. Facebook is tweaking your News Feed…which means that ugly 20% number (i.e. the amount of posts the average Facebook user sees) has jumped to 70% now that oldie-but-goodie posts (i.e. those that are getting lots of comments and likes ) are being put back at the top of our feeds to make sure we don’t miss it. That makes engagement (i.e. creating posts that people with engage with) all the more important!
3. 70% of Fortune 500 CEOs have no social media presence…ouch! But hey, we can’t say we’re surprised. They’re busy…you know… running a company and stuff. What’s interesting about the new study by Domo and CEO.co is this finding: “Of the 30% that choose to engage in social media, nearly all of them (28%) do so through LinkedIn.” If you’re trying to reach decision makers, having a presence on LinkedIn might be a good place to start (even if you’re only reaching a small percentage of them).
4. 6 Ways to Improve Content Marketing…because we all need a refresher. Sure, content marketing is one of the best ways to build brand trust and drive traffic. And in a perfect world, we all want to create viral content. But as this article reminds us, “content only becomes ‘viral’ as a result of quality and great distribution efforts.”
